APPLY TO BE A PART OF HOUSTON CHAMBER CHOIR
Auditions for the Houston Chamber Choir are held on an ongoing basis throughout the year. The fully professional nature of the ensemble makes it important that all of its members have significant vocal training and excellent musical skills. Most have advanced degrees in voice from universities and conservatories around the country.
All interested individuals with that background or equivalent experience are encouraged to request an audition by submitting a resume and brief cover letter to Auditions@HoustonChamberChoir.org.
• 2 prepared pieces of your choice, one in English and one in a foreign language. These solos may drawn from the art song, opera, or oratorio repertoire. They need not be memorized. An accompanist will be provided.
• A sight-reading passage
• Vocal agility and ear training exercises
• A conversation with the Artistic Director about your experience and personal goals.
Auditions are held at Christ Church Cathedral, 1117 Texas Avenue, 77002, in downtown Houston.
