Best choral group I've ever heard!
—Jan Kellogg
This article sums up the Rothko concert beautifully. It clearly demonstrates the versatility of Bob Simpson and the Houston Chamber Choir. The music was perfect for the space of Rothko Chapel. The John Cage works transported me to a Tibetan monastery. The Satie was tenderly played and reminded me of the sounds you might hear if you were being drawn toward the light. What a rare treat to hear the original work by Morten Feldman as the finale. Written 40 years ago for the Rothko Chapel, it's as relevant today as it was then. Many thanks to the Rothko Chapel, Houston Chamber Choir and Da Camera of Houston for the Hard work and collaboration in making this possible.
