In this program the Chamber Choir performs David Lang’s Pulitzer Prize-winning “Little Match Girl Passion,” a groundbreaking work praised for its unique purity and beauty inspired by Bach’s St. Matthew Passion and Hans Christian Anderson’s short story. In lighthearted contrast to “The Little Match Girl Passion,” two other works of striking originality will be performed, “Medieval Bestiary,” by Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer and Irving Fine’s “Alice in Wonderland Suite.”
Tales by the Brothers Grimm, Lewis Carroll and fanciful depictions of mythological creatures complete this evening of rare sights and sounds.
Ample free parking is available to all patrons in the main parking lot of the church.
