Tonight, Tonight Won't Be Just Any Night

  • South Main Baptist Church 4100 Main Street Houston, TX, 77002 United States (map)

Lenny @ 100

With Special Guest, Jamie Bernstein

Jamie returns to Houston in a role as commentator, offering personal reflections, observations and remembrances of her father and his career as the Choir sings a sampling of his music to celebrate the 100th birthday of this legendary composer, conductor and educator.  Jamie explains, “Leonard Bernstein’s essential approach to music was one of celebration. As my Dad’s 100th birthday approaches we have an unprecedented opportunity to reciprocate the celebration by sounding out his marvelous notes for all the world to hear.” The full range of his genius will be on display with highlights from West Side Story and Candide, and sacred music including selections from the Missa Brevis and Mass.  Patrons arriving between 6:45pm and 7:15pm will be treated to complimentary refreshments and dessert in the Welcome Center of South Main Baptist Church.

As it is our last concert of the season, we invite our concert patrons to join us for a celebration at Nouveau Antique Art Bar immediately following the concert.   Conveniently located within close proximity to South Main Baptist Church, the venue has ample off street parking and plenty of space for us all to enjoy a champagne toast together.  We can't wait to see you on May 12th to celebrate the life of Leonard Bernstein and the close of another incredible season of choral music!

Nouveau Antique Art Bar is located at 2913 S Main St, Houston, TX 77002.  Traveling northeast on Main Street, turn right on Tuam and the parking lot will be immediately to your right.
