New Pathways | Houston Selects Eight Arts Organizations to Participate in Coaching and Incubating Innovation

EmcArts is delighted to announce that eight arts organizations, participants in New Pathways for the Arts | Houston, have been selected to move forward into the second phase of the program within two tracks of engagement, On-Site Organizational Coaching and Incubating Innovation. All 8 organizations have shown considerable courage, vulnerability, and strength in choosing to move forward in this way amidst recovery efforts after Hurricane Harvey.

From December of 2016, New Pathways | Houston has been providing, at no cost to the cohort of 16 organizations, workshops and forums, as well as a variety of learning tools and resources to capture practices and reinforce lessons about adaptive change. New Pathways for the Arts celebrates and advances organizational innovations as responses to complex challenges during times of rapid change in the arts sector.  New Pathways | Houston aims to leave a lasting legacy by integrating a cohort model of learning and action, where participating organizations connect and learn from each other, alongside access to strategic financial investment over time to support new ways of creating public value.

We are excited to welcome Dance Source Houston, Houston Chamber Choir, Inprint, Musiqa, River Oaks Chamber Orchestra (ROCO), DiverseWorks, Fresh Arts, and Writers in the Schools, into phase two of New Pathways!

The five organizations participating in On-Site Organizational Coaching – Dance Source HoustonHouston Chamber ChoirInprintMusiqa, and River Oaks Chamber Orchestra (ROCO) – will convene working groups of cross-constituent stakeholders over the next 6 months. With an EmcArts coach as their support and guide, each organization will investigate its complex challenges, explore organizational assumptions, and design and implement small experiments with radical intent, with the support of a $2,000 grant.
