Greg Goedecke
Greg is a proud native of Houston and has been a choral music professional since 2019. He is currently the Head Choir Director at Porter High School in the New Caney Independent School District, where his choirs consistently achieve high honors in UIL and American Classic competitions. Greg has also directed choirs for numerous musicals, including Mamma Mia, Grease, The Wizard of Oz, and Cinderella. In addition to his role at Porter High School, Greg serves as a Region Vocal Chair for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA). Teaching is not just a profession for Greg; it’s his calling and source of fulfillment.
Greg has performed with various Houston ensembles, including the Houston Bach Society, Houston Men’s Chorus, Suono Chamber Choir. His favorite choral memory is singing backup to the pop-punk band Paramore on their self-titled tour.
Greg holds a degree in Music Education from the University of Houston, where he studied voice under Dr. Timothy Jones. He is an active member of TMEA and the Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA).
Outside of music, Greg loves spending time with his husband, Victor, and their little zoo at home—a Sheltie puppy and two cats. He is honored to have sung with the Houston Chamber Choir since 2019.
